During the ancient times when the world was still young, a half-demon creature named Inuyasha steals the "Jewel of Four Souls" from a village. Having amazing power, the jewel grants it user unimaginable power. Inuyasha tried to escape, but Kikyo uses her scared arrow to seal into Goshinboku, a sacred tree. Time passes and a high school girl named Kagome Higurashi is going through her daily routines as a teenager when a malevolent centipede grabs her body and forces her back to the past. In the ensuing chaos, Kagome needed Inuyasha's help badly, so she releases him from the tree prison. Inuyasha tries to take the Jewel again, but unfortunately for him this time it is shattered into pieces and is spread through the vast lands of Japan. And so the adventures of Inuyasha and Kagome start as they try to restore the shards of the "Jewel of Four Sols" back to its original form while encountering new friends and enemies along the way.
